It’s true, we Saints are biased – we love this place! But we think you will, too, if you like family vacations with more fun than frills.

Our parents, Barbara & Gene bought this historic house in 1960. Built in 1890, the home retains the classic “Cape” charm of long ago.

All five of us kids learned to swim at Megansett beach, just a short walk from the Cape House. With a protected harbor, separated from the gentle Megansett Bay by a long, fisherman’s jetty, this beach is perfect for children.

But adults love it, too! Swim in the calm water, kayak, paddleboard, jump off the dock, or just catch some rays while reading a good book.

Megansett is easy to get to – about 10 miles south of the Bourne Bridge. It’s an easy drive from Boston, Providence, or central Massachusetts.

Cape House Details

The traditional wraparound porch is the hub of the home. From your morning coffee to evening happy hour, enjoy meals, games, conversation, and ultimate relaxation on this outdoor space amidst tall trees.

Inside, the home is cozy and historic. With original wood paneling, hardwood floors, a clawfoot tub (in perfect condition) it is classic, charming Cape Cod.

The kitchen (no stainless or granite) is fully equipped, and has turned out countless fabulous meals with local ingredients – lobster, fish, sweet corn, tomatoes, and veggies galore. There’s a gas grill just off the kitchen (back) porch.
